Patch 2.0


Howdy folks!

As with the other playbooks that have undergone revisions after initial playtesting, the Crimson Duelist is a class I wanted to tweak the speed at which its full potential could be achieved. Given that much of Slayers is built to encourage faster paced, easy to understand mechanics and combat, I felt that the previous pace of the playbook was unsatisfactory. To rectify that, I have taken some time to overhaul much of the base mechanics to better encourage the almost swashbuckling, French revolutionary feel of the original inspiration.

To better hit on the theme of the Crimson Duelist as a more melee centered mage, I increased the damage, added more options for what gaining benefits from a given pair of crystals would give you for your main attack action. In this way, I wanted to make the time to reach full potential for attacking and dealing big damage to be more player determined. As much as waiting around to build power is nice, that is not everyone's playstyle and I wanted to give more player agency. Hopefully the changes will allow for better usage of the class' full strength.
